FAQ
Q: Why can’t I submit an MP3?
A:
MP3s are lower quality than uncompressed WAV or AIFF files. In
addition, our partners and clients often require WAV or AIFF files.
Q: Can I submit more than one song or mix?
A: Yes! You may submit as many songs as you like to be considered for the licensing catalog.
Q: Why do I have to register?
A: So that we can:
1) Get all of the necessary information
2) Organize the catalog so that we can quickly find your music and promo.
Q: What will DYNAMIX do with my files?
A: We will put them in front of our high-profile clients to find commercial placements for your music and artists.
Q: If accepted into the program, how will I get paid?
A: This is all strictly promo. We do not sell your music here. DISTRIBUTION is only for signed artists.
(By registering you will be considered. There is no guarantee.)
Q: Do I own the copyright to my mix?
A:
Yes! You retain 100% of the rights to your mix or tracks. You grant
RWD Music, Dynamix Recordingz, and EDM Nightlife the right to use your
mixes or music commercially and for promotional purposes to promote
you. You and Dynamix Recordingz only split money that is generated on
your behalf through a date or show placement. If we book you through our
manager, promoters, street team, or site, there will be a commission of
20% (per event) or (Date) that will be kept for payment to the booking
agency.
Q: Can I submit my music to other commercial opportunities?
A: Yes, this program is non-exclusive, meaning that you can commercialize the music outside of our site.
Q: How do I check the status of my submissions?
A: It will show up in the DJ Area or Downloads tab for the community to browse.
Q: Will all songs be accepted into the program?
A:
We will only be hand-picking the highest quality songs to be included
in the catalog. We will listen to every song, or mix and we will
select them to be included based on the following criteria:
1) Musicianship
2) Recording/Production Quality
3) EDM
Q: Can I submit songs that have been previously published or release?
A: Yes, BUT only if you control or own all rights necessary to grant us the license to use the song commercially.
Q: What if I haven’t registered my song with a performance rights
organization, such as ASCAP or BMI?
A: We can help you register to collect performance royalties. Please contact Memo'Rias for more information.
Q: This licensing stuff is hard! Are there any resources you recommend to help me understand music rights management?
A:
Yes! Our favorite books on the subject are “All You Need to Know About
the Music Business” by Donald Passman, and “The Plain And Simple Guide
To Music Publishing” by Randall Wixen. Get reading!
